Dolly DeLong: Hello and welcome back to the Systems and Workflow Magic Podcast. I am your systems and workflow, BFF Dolly DeLong, and I just wanna say thank you for being here today. Now, whether it’s your first time tuning in or if you are a frequent listener, thank you so much for letting me share some systems and workflow tips with you this week.
Now, I will have to say this week’s episode is a little different because I am announcing the opening of the Systems and Workflow Magic Summit, the email marketing edition, because it goes live today, technically, but the summit itself goes live June 20th through June 23rd. And if you’re tuning in live in real time, I am pumped for you to join me plus 20 other summit speakers who will be teaching you about the different puzzle pieces of email marketing to actually apply it to your own business.
And I wanted to use this episode to dive into what the summit is all about and to see if it would be a good fit for your business. Okay, so let’s dive in.
Now if you’ve attended an online summit before, you know that many summits are packed with valuable information. But you may also be feeling a little overwhelmed with all the new things you feel you need to be doing in order for your business to succeed. And I say that in air quotes. I know you can’t see me.
Now this summit isn’t like most. Instead, the goal is to help you see the systems and workflows as the backend puzzle pieces of email marketing and to help you apply it immediately to your business.
You see, I know you most likely have heard about the power of email marketing, and if you have been listening in to my email marketing series, you know, I am a firm believer in email marketing, but you may be thinking, well, what’s the point of learning about email marketing? Because I get all of my clients from social media.
Or you may be thinking, well, what’s the point of email marketing? I don’t know what to say or what to write, plus, I don’t wanna be annoying. Or you may be thinking, I have started email marketing. I bought the course, and I paid X amount of dollars for a course, but I only have 50 people on my list and I don’t know how to grow my list and I don’t have time for this.
Or, again, Dolly like, how do I even get started? I feel overwhelmed, so that’s why I’ve created the Systems and Workflow Magic Summit, the email marketing edition. What you’re not going to find in this summit is “fluff,” general business advice for every business owner out there, because each speaker is going to give you actionable steps for you to take after every talk so that you know about a different puzzle piece, a different component of email marketing and you can apply it to your own business.
So when I say fluff, I mean no fluff. I have purposefully divided up the summit into four days strategically. So in four days, the goal is to take you, the viewer, through the different components and puzzle pieces of email marketing.
And again, I refer to these different components as the different systems of email marketing. So the theme of day one is all about the foundational puzzle pieces of email marketing, and that includes presentations on what email marketing is, what segmenting is, how to create time for email marketing, how to shift your mindset to actually do email marketing, because yes, as woo woo, as mindset shifting sounds, I probably said that really weird, but shifting your mindset sounds, it sounds woo-woo to me, but it is true. It does take a certain mindset shift to step into email marketing. And so that’s why I’ve invited a speaker to speak on that.
So there will be more presentations, but I just wanted to share a highlight of what to expect from day one.
Presentations for day two. The theme of that day is the importance of copy and how to infuse it into email marketing. So you’ll get presentations like how to write emails with ease and with storytelling. How to make subscribers look forward to getting emails. How to write out an email welcome sequence. How to write one month’s worth of newsletters in one hour or less.
And again, so much more. So presentations for day two will all be centered around the power of strategic copy. And if you have been making the excuse, I will call this the excuse because I have made these excuses before of, well I just don’t know how to write an email. I am not a copywriter. I feel like I’m staring at a blinking cursor on my screen, or I don’t really know how to write a story, Dolly, or I have the most uninteresting life and I don’t know how to connect with any future subscribers, and I don’t even know what an email sequence is. So these are all questions that need and will be answered on day two.
Now, on day three, the presentations all sent around the topic of email marketing in 2023, because as you may or may not know, email marketing has been around for well over, I don’t wanna say the exact number because I probably will butcher it, but it’s been around for well over 20 years, and so it’s one of the oldest forms of, you know, digital marketing, online marketing.
So you’ll hear from experts who will speak on the topic of email marketing in 2023. How to get people engaged through email, because again, that’s ever evolving, that’s ever-changing. How to harness the power of AI for email marketing, because AI is brand new right now, it’s been around for a while, but a lot of people are buzzing about that specifically starting in 2023.
How to create strategic steps to grow and nurture your list to better impact your 2023. How to actually organize your email marketing with a current project management tool, like ClickUp. And so much more. So again, the presentation themes for day three all center around the topic of how to like look at email marketing from the lens of, “Okay, I am starting this in 2023. Okay. How can I actually apply this to my business in 2023?” Because remember, it’s been around for quite some time and it’s ever-evolving and it’s ever-changing.
And then finally on day four, presentations will center around how to actually grow your email list. So you’ll hear from experts who will speak on topics such as how to consistently add subscribers to your email list every day without posting to social media or a blog. How to start your email list without a freebie. How to set up your opt-ins. How to actually boost visibility and connect with more audiences. How to organically grow your email list using YouTube. So these are some great presentations, and I just wanna say that I’ve watched and consumed all these presentations and they actually leave with action steps for you, the viewer to take.
So that’s something that I had asked each Summit presenter to not only create a presentation about a certain topic around email marketing, but to give the viewer, okay, here are your action steps, or here is what you’re going to learn so that you know exactly what to expect.
And they also are giving you a freebie for each presentation. So, therefore, you will have a resource to dive into after every single presentation and you’ll know how to apply it to your business, which is so important because that is another reason what sets this summit apart from other summits because I’ve been a part of summits and I have been to summits that it doesn’t make sense and there’s no strategy. It is a mod podge of speakers on, you don’t really know what the topic is, and so with this summit, I wanted to make sure that you take action after every single presentation you consume.
Again, my goal of dividing up the presentations over four days is this, I wanna make sure that it’s easy to consume. No more than six summit presentations are going to be posted per day, just in case a summit viewer decides not to purchase the all-access pass, they can still watch them for up to 24 hours.
Alright, the number two goal is to build the topics on top of each other.
The number three goal is to make this week the week you take action steps to actually implement email marketing into your business and overall to make email marketing approachable and for you to see how important it is to implement in your business. So if you haven’t started email marketing yet, that’s totally fine.

Again, I know that realistically every business owner needs to incorporate email marketing into their own business. This is something I will say until I’m blue in the face.
And I know that I’ve had people even disagree with me that email marketing is not essential, but that’s, this is something that I will actually, push back on. It is essential. It is essential for every type of business owner.
But here’s the thing. I do know, and I believe that every email marketing journey is different. So that’s why the summit has speakers who are talking about the different puzzle pieces of email marketing. And my hope and goal is for listeners or viewers to connect some dots for their own unique email marketing journey.
And hey, it would be awesome if all the summit talks were 100% spot on to be that specific creative business owner or a business owner needed, but if a person solely just needs to learn about the power of segmenting, for example, and then they just needed to learn about the power of building on an email list without a freebie.

So overall, my goal is to help connect the dots for the creative business owner, connect those systems and workflows for the business owner to see the value and purpose of email marketing, and to just start and to know how every email marketing journey is going to be different.
There is no one size fits all strategy. That’s why there are so many different summit talks in this summit And that’s another reason why I divided it up into four different days. Because you may already know the foundational components of email marketing in day one.
