After you’ve booked your branding session, it’s time to start planning for your portraits. It’s important to think about the content that you’re going to promote using these images and what makes your business unique. Once you know the answers to those questions, you’re ready to plan out what to bring with you to your branding session! Today, I’m sharing my TOP FIVE things to bring for your branding session!
Make a list of what you use every day to do your job. A computer? Notebook and pen? Camera? Once you know what items you’ll be bringing, you can plan a shot list with your branding photographer to use everything strategically. Remember, one of the benefits of branding portraits is that you can really show what makes you unique. So lean into that when thinking about your tools of the trade.
When you plan your outfits for your branding photoshoot, think about what matches your brand AND attracts your clients. For example, if you’re a real estate agent, you probably don’t want to show up in ripped jeans and a stained college sweatshirt. You’re probably going to wear something more business casual in your brand colors – or what makes sense for your brand. These images are meant to showcase you and your brand, so plan carefully!
Depending on where your portraits will be, it may be wise to order a solid color backdrop from Amazon for some fun headshots. If the space we’re photographing in isn’t super clean or clear, it’s worthwhile to grab another backdrop!
I know this one might sound strange off the bat, but hear me out! Bring a few clothing clamps in case you’re in a pinch and need to adjust your clothing. Sometimes, we want our outfits to look more fitted in images, so clamps like this can make that adjustment way easier (and faster)!!
Bringing a steamer is a great way to make sure you look your best! Steam your clothing prior to your session so that nothing looks wrinkled. I promise, it 100% will show up in your images – and we’re not here to photoshop every wrinkle in your shirt. Take a little time to prep for your session and it will make all the difference in the world! PS. If you’re thinking about planning your own outfits, consider hiring a personal stylist for your branding session!
