1-Year-Old Milestone Photos At A Lavender Field
Earlier this summer, sweet Kinley Rose celebrated her first birthday, and her mama Kaitlin wanted to mark the occasion with something a little different: a portrait session in a lavender field.
If you’ve been following along, you might remember Kinley from her 6-month session that was featured in The Nashville Baby Guide. She came back as a “big” girl this time, and she did not disappoint.
For her actual birthday celebration, Kaitlin threw a “sweet-as-a-peach” tea party, and these lavender portraits tied right into that theme. I love it when a session and a celebration complement each other like that.
We shot these at Menkveld Farms, a family-owned and operated farm just outside of Nolensville. At the time, it had the most relaxing lavender field and even a small sunflower area that made for a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind backdrop. (A quick note: Menkveld Farms is no longer taking photography clients. But if a floral field session sounds like your dream, I always have other farms and floral locations in mind for summer sessions.
