There’s just something about summer in Nashville that makes family sessions extra dreamy. The warm light, the relaxed energy, the long evenings, it all comes together in the most beautiful way. And this particular session at the Ellington Agricultural Center? Absolutely unforgettable.
Hi, I am Dolly Delong, a Nashville family photographer, and I am so glad you are here. From the moment I met Anna Claire, Damian, and their 15-month-old daughter Daisy, I knew this session would be something special. Not only were they incredibly photogenic (seriously, they looked like they stepped right out of a magazine), but their connection was the real showstopper, genuine, joyful, and full of love.
And of course, Ellington Agricultural Center photos never disappoint. It’s one of my favorite places to shoot in Nashville because of how versatile it is. You can capture everything from wide open fields to shaded paths and tucked-away gardens, all in one spot. It gives every session a naturally dynamic feel, and this one made full use of that!
If you’re thinking about booking a family session this year, I’d love to walk with you through the planning process and create something beautiful together.
And if you’re a fellow photographer trying to stay on top of your Instagram and email marketing (especially during busy seasons!), The Family Photographer’s Marketing Society is here to help you stay visible and consistent in your business.
But first, let me tell you more about this beautiful session with Daisy and her sweet parents!

We started the session in one of my favorite spots at the Ellington Agricultural Center, a wide, paved path lined with old trees and bordered by a white fence. It’s the kind of place that invites families to slow down because it’s so peaceful (yes, in the middle of Nashville, which is surprising!).
The moment I saw Anna Claire holding Daisy in that lavender blue tiered dress, I knew we were in for something sweet. Their outfits were the perfect blend of soft summer tones: Anna Claire in a breezy smocked cotton dress, Damian in a pale blue-and-white striped shirt with khaki pants, and little Daisy in a classic white romper with delicate flutter sleeves. And that sweet bow in her hair? Absolutely precious.
This was one of those sessions where the outfits, the location, and the natural chemistry between family members all worked together seamlessly.
From the beginning, Daisy was full of calm curiosity. She gave us a few of those thoughtful, serious looks toddlers are known for, and then suddenly lit up with the most heart-melting little smile when her parents lifted her up or nuzzled her close.
One of my favorite sequences was when Damian held Daisy close and kissed her on the cheek. Her expression was priceless, equal parts observant and amused, and it gave us a sweet peek into their father-daughter bond. You could feel the comfort and security she has in her parents’ arms.
And when both parents lifted Daisy together, her whole face broke into the biggest, most joyful smile. That moment, her giggle, the way her legs kicked in the air, and how Anna Claire reached up to steady her, it was such a perfect, unposed slice of their real life together.
Photos at Ellington Agricultural Center offer a peaceful backdrop for family sessions. The park is full of wide open spaces, lush green trees, soft grassy hills, and little hidden corners that allow families to relax and be themselves. For this session, we used two key areas: the shady path bordered by the white fence and a quieter spot near the water that offered a more serene vibe.
The path gave us movement and depth, while the water location brought softness and quiet to the session. The combination of both created a well-rounded gallery with variety, without having to drive to multiple locations.
And for little ones like Daisy, having room to explore without too much distraction helps keep the session flowing with ease. She got to sit, crawl, reach, and look around naturally, all while staying close to her parents.
Daisy’s gentle personality really came through in the way she leaned into her parents, snuggled into Anna Claire’s shoulder, and quietly examined the grass between her toes during her solo moments.
Her rosy cheeks, soft curls, and the way her tiny toes peeked out as she sat in the grass created some of the most timeless toddler portraits. She was clearly most content when held close, but also loved a good lift and giggle session, especially when both parents were involved.
Every single expression she gave us, curious, contemplative, joyful, felt like a little glimpse into her growing personality.

Toward the end of the session, we moved down to a quiet grassy spot near the water. The light here was softer, and the vibe slowed down even more. Daisy sat in the grass, picking little clover blossoms while her parents sat nearby, soaking in the calm.
I love ending family sessions in spots like this because they invite natural closeness and reflection. It’s often when the most meaningful moments happen, like Daisy’s tiny fingers brushing the grass while her stuffed animal lay nearby, or the way Anna Claire held her gently against her chest, cheek to cheek, both of them smiling.
These are the quiet moments families cherish most later on. They aren’t posed or forced, they’re honest, unfiltered, and full of love.
If you’re planning your own session soon and wondering what to wear, this family nailed it with light, breathable fabrics and a cohesive color palette. Pale blues, soft whites, and gentle lavenders photographed beautifully against the greens of Ellington Agricultural Center.
Their look felt polished without being fussy. Everything moved well, nothing clashed with the environment, and the outfits allowed for snuggling, lifting, and playing without restriction. When everyone is comfortable and confident in what they’re wearing, it always shows in the final images.
Ellington is a gem for families with toddlers. With its mix of shade and open sky, paved paths for easy walking, and grassy areas for little ones to explore, it provides the ideal setting for sessions that are both relaxed and full of variety.
There’s enough space for movement but also plenty of quiet, tucked-away spots that help toddlers (and parents!) feel at ease. The fence-lined paths, gentle hills, and water features all add visual interest without being distracting.
Ellington Agricultural Center photos are ideal if you want a session that feels natural, connected, and beautifully timeless.

This session with Anna Claire, Damian, and sweet Daisy reminded me once again why I do what I do. Every family has a story to tell, and every season deserves to be remembered.
