Sometimes you meet people who you just know that you’re meant to be friends with. Kaleigh and Seth are two of those people. I originally met them in 2018 at their engagement session, which I was photographing. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I was also pregnant with Blaise. After a few weeks, I had to call Kaleigh and Seth and tell them I couldn’t photograph their wedding day after all because their wedding date was my due date. How selfish of Blaise, am I right? (Totally kidding). Anyway, over the last few years, we’ve all stayed in touch, which is amazing! They recently invited me to meet Hadley and capture their Nashville newborn session at home.
I love lifestyle newborn sessions because I get to photograph my families where they’re most comfortable: at home! Especially after having a baby, I take pride in knowing that you get to be somewhere where you’re relaxed and at ease. You never have to worry about where you left a clean diaper! And, as we all know with babies, that’s important!
Kaleigh and Seth have a beautiful home and it was just perfect to bring Hadley to! We started their session in her nursery and I made sure to document all of the little details that made Hadley’s nursery hers. Parents always put so much work into nurseries – and they’ll eventually change, so I want to make sure that part of their story is documented. There, I photographed Hadley with her parents – who are just so, so in love with their little girl. Hadley’s grandmother, Lori, was also visiting and I was thrilled to see her again, too! I actually worked with her when I was in higher education. And now, she’s a grandmother! It was so special to be able to capture those portraits of her and Hadley together.
Congratulations to this entire family. Kaleigh and Seth, thank you for trusting me with this big moment in your lives. I’m SO happy I was able to stay connected with you two and be a part of welcoming Hadley home and to the world.
