I just adore Ann Marie and her sweet family. Ann Marie reached out to me about capturing a photo session for her, her siblings, and her parents while they were visiting the area. We met up on New Year’s Day here in Nashville and it was just so much fun! The entire family had come to Franklin, TN for a family getaway to celebrate their parents’ 33rd anniversary and the new year. First off: how special is that?! Then to top it off, they booked an extended family portrait session so they could document being all together for their trip. I absolutely love that idea!
The day of our session was surprisingly warm (not that I’m complaining). And I know we were all happy to have weather in the 70’s for their session, instead of the wintery cold. We actually lucked out because that night, there was a tornado watch and some crazy weather. So, thank goodness we did a morning session! Ann Marie’s entire family is just SO sweet. They were patient and wonderful, which just made my job even easier.
With seven adults and two kids, we worked quickly to make sure that we got all of the shots we wanted. When it comes to extended family sessions, I always take the time to get big group shots before we go too far. Then, we spend time breaking down into smaller combinations of each family, the grandparents, and the siblings. It’s not often people are able to get their families together like this, so I try to help them make the most of it! Ann Marie’s family even had four dogs. It was truly a wild time! But, I’m always all about including your fur babies – so bring it on!
Thank you, to this incredibly sweet family, for asking me to capture your Nashville extended family portrait session. I loved ringing in the new year with all of you and I hope that the rest of January has treated you well!
