Katie and Chad are some of my favorite people – I’ve been working with the Herndon family for several years now! It’s such a blessing to see my clients and their families grow every year. Katie, Chad, and their three kiddos welcomed Baby #4 earlier this year! I was so excited when they reached out to set up their Franklin TN newborn portraits at home. As you know, I seriously LOVE lifestyle portraits. There’s nothing like capturing your family, in your home, together. And as a mom myself, I know how much easier it is to have your photos done at home. Especially with a new baby!!

It was great to see all of their sweet kids again for the session. Everyone was super excited about showing off their new sibling. As a photographer, it’s always so fun to watch big siblings step into their new role!! All three of them were ready to snuggle the new baby and we even managed to capture some photos of everyone looking up. Although I wish it was because I was hilarious and making them laugh, it wasn’t. Katie and Chad had The Greatest Showman on the TV behind me. It was a great little trick to get everyone’s eyes up during their portraits with their baby sister! Photographers, did you take note of that one? Add a fun show or music video behind you during a session at home for some extra help getting those eyes up.
At the end of our session, Katie and Chad clapped to celebrate this being their LAST newborn session ever!!! The kids clapped too, which was seriously adorable. I’m SO honored I could celebrate this journey with them. This cozy and dreamy in-home newborn session was definitely the best way to end this chapter of new babies and newborn photos in their lives. Congratulations again to the Herndon family!
